Kanmidokoro Hatsune
-
A traditional sweets shop, long-cherished in Ningyocho
-
A sweets shop founded in 1837. It was named Hatsune after "Hatsune no Tsuzumi", a hand drum that appears in the Kabuki play Yoshitsune Senbon-zakura. Its signature anmitsu uses domestic ingredients such as adzuki beans from Hokkaido, brown sugar from Okinawa, and agar made from Izu tengusa (red seaweed). They continue to preserve the flavor unchanged since the beginning.
