- Buddha's Birthday Flower Festival
Buddha's Birthday Flower Festival
Put your hands together, pour Amacha and celebrate Buddha's Birthday.
April 8 is the day to celebrate the birth of Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. Peacefully pour Amacha for Buddha, and bring your hands together to pray. Parents bring their children along to the community event to experience the "shitamachi" (downtown) atmosphere of good old Tokyo, and the childrens' voice echo throughout the buildings. A lottery is held in cooperation with the Ningyocho Shopping Street where Ningyocho's specialties are given away, making the event more exciting.
